Bir çok oyun yapımcısı başarılı olan oyunun ardından unutulup gitmesin diye serisini üretir. Fakat Mad Doc SoftWare'nin bu anlamı çok farklıdır. Uygarlığının teknolojik ve ekonomik gelişiminin yanında, askeri savaşlarla da zafer mücadelesi temel araç oluyor. Bu yüzden oyunu çift yollu oluyor ve round tabanlı bir Dünya Egemenliği modu sunarken savaş modunda gerçek zamanlı angajmanlar da sunuyor. pc oyun Sonuç olarak EE 3 genel anlamıyla round tabanlı bir strateji oyunudur. Oyun diğer serilerinin üzerine fazla bir yenilik göstermemiştir.
